I’m your shitty Ex, your abusive religious leader, your controlling mother, your hateful neighbor, your absent father, your narcissistic boss, your hateful teacher, your persistent Internet troll/stalker, your rapist, your molester, your unjust judge/legal system, your racist attacker/Karen, and your MAGA relative. Select whatever bit of this you need. You’ll be surprised how it makes you feel.

I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I’ll say that up front.

If you even stay around long enough to hear this, it’s more than I could hope for. After what I did, earning a place back in your life and your heart and your trust is not humanly possible.

I was not there for you. I didn’t see you or hear you, your true self. I didn’t understand your goodness, your kindness, how hard you tried.

I felt nothing when I saw your tears, and for that I deserve to be in a world of hurt.

I used you for my own purposes. You were a commodity, an energy source, a way to make me feel better or look better. You were a handy place to store my own pain and self-loathing.

I not only wasn’t there, but I actively damaged you in ways that you may never fully comprehend. You needed compassion, gentleness, strength. You got toxic blisters on your spirit and…
