When A Narcissist Tries to Human
Until they Discard you or you Unmask them, there’s no one nicer or more charming than a narcissist.
Whether grandiose, covert, or white knights, they are all too visibly being Extra — either Extra powerful, controlling, and egotistical, or Extra charming and helpful (or even Super Spiritual for the spiritual guru narcissists — those ones are GROTESQUE).
Frustratingly, they fool even very intelligent people and recruit “flying monkeys” to assist them in targeting their already-depleted victims.
How do people so apparently void of conscience or empathy fool us?
It’s simple, yet effective.
· They study us.
· Then they copy us, mirroring our own best qualities BACK to us.
· We see those great qualities in them and essentially swoon.
Why?
Because we are the type of people who were
1) Typically raised by narcissists or in a narcissistic system, such as a religious hierarchy, aka Church.
2) Taught that our needs didn’t matter and that we were merely commodities to be used in service of the narcissist or system.
