This series has relieved a heaviness I didn't know I still carried--that horrible stilted P & P book and all that spiritualized angst around pleasure and desire. It really fucked me up. I ended up in a dead marriage with a cheater, which I'm not sure could have happened if I'd been allowed to know who I am, what I like, and how I feel. I pressured myself into a sort of "arranged marriage" based on what I'd been told to look for in the church. Still healing from that, but grateful for your research, which has real-life benefits, at least for me. Maybe I can finally set all that guilt to the side and recognize that it's source was twisted from the get-go.
