The One Magical Ingredient every Therapist, Life Coach, or Counselor Needs to Have and to Receive

I found it.

I’m not an easy person to coach. I know too much, I’ve been through too much, and I’m wary and untrustful. Anything you can suggest I’ve already tried. And I’m a coach.

It’s led to a lot of frustration and wasted money. Thousands of dollars. I can’t keep doing that, but I also can’t quit. I know I’ll get there faster with the right help.

But now, after all this time, I have an amazing coach. I know that word is overused, but I stand by it.

I know he’s amazing, because:

1) I’ve had so many in the past that I have plenty of comparisons to draw from,

2) I’m a life coach myself, so I KNOW, and

3) I’m seeing good changes. Finally.

I probably make him uneasy as a client because I’ve had so many coaches. It makes me seem difficult, an attention-seeker or attention whore, maybe.

We’ve butted heads. We’ve misunderstood each other. But it’s okay.

I’ve cried — a LOT. Not because of him, but because I CAN. I am seen, I am heard, I am safe.

I can feel all his wheels turning, emotional trigonometry, constantly evaluating the best…
