There’s nothing more dangerous than a half truth

I love coaching and getting coached. I have spoken or worked with ten or more different coaches in the past five years for either a single session, several weeks or over a year, in a variety of ages, races, prices, and abilities.

I believe in coaching and transformation. I’m a life coach, and I love it. I feel like it’s more optimistic and successful than therapy, but that’s because I’ve seen some really bad therapists.

One of them, let’s call her Letty, was at least “meh” to begin with, like the color beige. But then Letty got charmed by my narcissistic ex, which apparently is a common thing, and then she went from “meh” to side-eyeing me. He’s THAT charming. THEN, it got worse. Someone I knew went to a facility where she happened to be on rotation, and she straight up made them worse. She’s toxic. I literally want to give that place double-barreled middle fingers every time I drive by it.

Another therapist misdiagnosed someone I know completely against the guidelines of their own regulations, recommending medication that would have fucked them up worse than the original problem.

I’ve also had some awful, inadequate, greedy, or outdated coaches, who I paid $$ out the wahoo for doing less than I was doing for my clients for *free…
