Money makes everything go down easier

I wanted the Respect Sauce.

People with money have a shortcut to everything else: status, influence, the cool people, the upper echelon, the inner circles, the high-value marriage partners.

Respect. Re$pect.

The money is the passcode, the key, the magic word.

It doesn’t even matter if they don’t get the results that poorer people get.

If you make it, you make it. Even if you married into it and don’t know your ass from your elbow, you can buy a whole sports team or politician or position on a board or the speaking circuit. People LISTEN to you.

Me?

I’ve given up on the idea of money.

I’ve decided to go completely counterculture.

I’ve been heading this way, or maybe being herded this way, for a few years.

I truly believed that I’d get on my feet within a few months after the divorce. I’d earn my keep somehow. I consulted a career coach, and realized I’d already been doing the thing I was most in love with doing, what I could see myself doing.

I did all the things:

• I learned. I got coaching, training, A LOT of it
• I started before I was ready.
