I’ve moved across the country TWICE in the last eight months: FL to OR to NC. Just sold everything and drove with my YA child, who was surly, and my shivery little Italian Greyhound rescue puppy. It’s wreaked havoc on my writing habits. Massive stress. No sooner did I get established in Portland than a family situation pulled me back to the east coast. Whiplash.

But I’ve found my groove and I’ve been super-duper productive in the past two weeks. That makes me an expert. Right?

You know what else I’m good at? I’m a great procrastinator. Like next level.

I never met a procrastination activity I didn’t love.

Cleaning, calling relatives, cooking, eating, Netflix, novel reading, research into non-writing related subjects, shopping, playing with the dog, being glued to the sofa by a cat sleeping on my lap, napping, traveling, socializing, organizing, daydreaming, even exercising…

If gaming had been something I could have participated in, I would probably have used that as well.

The good news is that the *giants in your head* go quiet when you stop trying to write. They leave you alone.
