What if they’re here to save your life?

The first time I heard this theory, I was in high school, riding in a car with twin girls, older than I, who were not only star athletes at our school but hard workers and kind, cheerful people. We all attended the same church, and I was friends with their younger sister. We had been cleaning buildings and were headed home.

I didn’t know I was about to have my mind blown.

We stopped at a red light. There might also have been a train. It was a normal enough situation, but I remember it because of what one of them said.

I don’t know if I expressed irritation or if someone else did, but one of them told me that when they were delayed like this, they were grateful because God might have been protecting them from something bad happening down the road BECAUSE they were stopped at this red light.

It blew my mind. I’d never heard something reframed like that.

I’m an impatient person.

I watch webinars and web trainings on 1.5x or even 2x speed, while surfing on my phone or laptop. I fidget endlessly. I used to read books in school while the teacher was talking or even administering a test.
