Non-Religious Reasons to be Kind
Atheists already know
Times are hard. And people are FUCKING ANNOYING.
Especially here in Florida, where the roads are thick with monster trucks and the water supply is precious and affordable housing is going the way of the dinosaurs and the manatees are starving to death because of industrial run-off that the corporate assholes could have prevented.
The line between being a good human and being a screeching Karen is thinner than most of us would like to think. The schadenfreude is real, mostly because we’re all one incident away from being recorded like that, probably.
Or maybe that’s just me.
- We are trying to make it another day, and assholes keep TRYING us.
- We’ve gotten used to the quiet of our own homes, depending on what quiet means in our various neighborhoods and families of origin.
- We don’t know when all the uncertainty will end so things will be NORMAL.
- There’s been no closure
- We don’t know if the planet will be okay.
- We don’t know if anyone will ever love us.
- We don’t know if our rent will keep going up until we’re priced out of our own “villages”
- We don’t know if our earning power will support us…
