It’s time to hit our knees
Learned helplessness. You kick a dog enough times, and he just stops getting up. You’ve killed his spirit, his will to try again. He just lies there in the dust.
It’s living death. It’s endless depression, hopelessness, darkness.
Bill Murray’s character in Groundhog Day eventually just tries to kill himself over and over when he can’t escape the time loop.
The whole world is waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
For what? We’re not sure. But it feels dark and scary.
The sky is falling.
- We are so confused and tired that we’re just letting it fall.
- We don’t know which way to look.
- We don’t know who to trust.
- We don’t feel like anything we’re doing makes a difference.
- Wars go on and on.
- Rich old white dudes keep making rules that keep everyone else down. And out. They DO NOT CARE.
- Black and brown people suffer and suffer and suffer.
- Immigrants and widows and orphans suffer.
- LGBTQ people suffer.
- The very earth is shifting and groaning and boiling
