I would insert the word "apparently" to be more precise. In a few instances I'm thinking of, the people definitely had trauma, are aware of it (and refer to it frequently), and are intelligent.
But I see behaviors that in my experience correlate with narcissism. I'm just trying to deal with them as compassionately as I can while protecting my own boundaries. I want to understand if it's accidental or manipulative.
