As far as the movie goes, they did say it was fictional, although I get your disapproval if it had pretended to be true to life. I felt it showed enough of the abuses of patriarchy and her intelligence to move beyond the cliché of sex symbol or inspirational dead person. The talking to baby bit was excessive, but it tied into the overall theme of "men leave you when you have a baby" conflicting with her "I want a safe, happy family."
The last 20 minutes were so visceral that it was hard for me to watch. I kept taking breaks. I wouldn't say I liked it, but it was powerful and Ana de Armas absolutely killed it.
